King Messiah Fellowship
King Messiah Fellowship is a community of believers that originally formed in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The formation of the Fellowship began with Believers who were separately seeking understanding and application of the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith. Nate Long and his family [his wife Elisa and four children - Alethea, Ethan, Tekoa, and Elorah] and Connie Anderson originally met at a First Fruits of Zion seminar that Nate had arranged in Fort Wayne. About a year or so later, myself and a close friend of mine from college, Courtney Bowlds, met Nate at another FFOZ seminar in southern Michigan. I had been familiar with who Nate was through a mutual friend of ours, but had not formally met him. We had exchanged contact information at this seminar, but did not reconnect for about two months. At that point I began to join the Long’s and Connie in Sabbath fellowship every week. My girlfriend, turned fiance, and then wife, Abbie, also began to join the fellowship when she returned to Fort Wayne after she completed her degree at Hillsdale University. In February of 2007 Courtney relocated to Fort Wayne so that he could be a part of the community as well. Another couple, Jeff and Sarah Hroncheck, dedicated much time and travel to join us on a fairly regular basis. They had lived in Pendleton, Indiana, which made for a nice drive back and forth each week. This demonstrated a great sacrifice on their behalf and a deep desire to bless us with their presence and giftings. Earlier this year King Messiah Fellowship grew with the addition of another family, the Van Sandst’s. David, his wife Edith, and their two children, Ruth and Peter, have blessed the Fellowship with their passion for Messiah and with their humble spirits. Along with these core families and individuals we regularly have visitors join us as well, through whom we have been greatly blessed.
Nate was ordained a Deacon in the Apostle’s Anglican Church under Bishop Larry Cameron. Nate also committed to the Order of the Anam Cara ["Soul Friend"] as a monk and was elevated to be the Abbot of the order in May 2008. However, prior to becoming Abbot of the Order, Nate was elevated to the Priesthood in October of 2007. Our community has found much significance and wisdom in the Anglican Tradition. We feel called to be a bridge-type people; standing to connect people who fall on the diverse sides of the Faith. We have developed a strong sense and need to be ecumenical in pursuit of God, while striving always to live in the via media, “The Middle Way”. This does not imply a compromise to our faith in Messiah, but rather, allows us to facilitate fellowship with believers who may be at a different spot in the process of their sanctification. Being one body implies an inevitable difference among the members that make up the Israel of God.
We are interested in developing as a Community to become not only a geographically specific people, but also a wide-spread way of life. Exploring the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith has yielded much fruit in comprehending how a disciple of Yeshua [Jesus] ought to walk through life during this day and time. The way of life, or heritage, that God blessed His people Israel with, which Yeshua perfectly demonstrated through his observance and teaching, is the very way that God desires for His people today, despite cultural differences, to live as well. The practical application may differ from region to region and/or situation to situation, but the principles, or spirit ought to be the same. This reality implies a needed, dedicated, deliberate, and continual search on behalf of the Follower of Christ, and also being able to live in tension while clothing oneself in humility.
King Messiah Fellowship is dedicated to the pursuit of glorifying God in every aspect of our lives. We seek to love what God loves, to celebrate what God celebrates, and live in such a way that others will notice that we are a peculiar people; God’s Am Segullah [Treasured Possession].
